Where History meets the present

Welcome to Örenäs Castle

Örenäs Castle was built during the years 1914-1918 by the ”Sugar king” Carl Tranchell. He was CEO and owner of the only sugar factory at the time in Sweden, and let this affect the design of the castle by, for example, giving the castle stucco the shape of a sugarbeet. This baroque castle cost around a million swedish krona (approximately 5,64 USD) to build - an unimaginable sum at the time.

One of Scanias largest Conference facilities

Örenäs Slott was opened as a holiday resort and education center in 1943. Since then the facilities have been expanded with both a building for hotel rooms and a new conference building. Today it is one of Scanias largest conference facilities, with lots of flexibility to meet different needs and a total of 115 hotel rooms. Örenäs Slott is also very popular for parties and weddings. In everything we do we always look for the most sustainable solution.
